Ben Affleck is said to be feeling uneasy about Tom Cruise’s new romance with Ana de Armas, the actress Ben previously dated — and friends have been teasing that he should “get even” by dating Katie Holmes.
A source told DailyMail.com:
“Ben is kind of [a] jealous [type], yup. He really liked Ana a lot and then she walked away and left him sad. So to see her happy with his friend is kind of weird for him.”
Affleck, 51, and de Armas, 37, were together from March 2020 to January 2021. Cruise and Ana reportedly began their relationship on Valentine’s Day and were recently seen strolling through a London park — attracting plenty of attention as they celebrated Ana’s birthday outdoors.
The insider added that despite mixed feelings, Ben holds no ill will toward Cruise:
“Ben is also happy for Tom… he admires that a colleague in his sixties is still going hard on the big screen. Ben hopes to be so lucky one day.”
Still, Affleck’s circle has jokingly suggested the ultimate “revenge romance” would be pairing up with Cruise’s ex-wife Katie Holmes, who is believed to be single — although the two live on opposite U.S. coasts.

Ana isn’t the only woman both men have crossed paths with. Their dating histories also connect through Gwyneth Paltrow, who famously said:
“I got to make out with Tom Cruise… He was an amazing kisser!”
And in another memorable pop-culture intersection, Tom once danced with Jennifer Lopez at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards — years before Lopez and Affleck reunited and later split once more.

Recent reports state that J.Lo promised her children she would emerge “stronger and better” after her separation from Ben. The singer shares twins Max and Emme (17) with Marc Anthony, and filed for divorce from Affleck in August — just two years after remarrying him.
Ben recently spoke warmly of Lopez during a red carpet appearance, telling Entertainment Tonight:
“Jennifer Lopez is spectacular… great ongoing relationship with them. I love her kids… enormously important… tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”
Lopez echoed similar emotional growth in her interview with Spain’s El Pais:
“I promise you… I’ll come out the other side stronger and better.”
She later reflected on personal progress:
